Expecting Miss "C"

I try really hard not to pick favorites, but I think maternity and newborn portraits ARE MY FAVORITE!!!!   I especially loooove photographing a couple who is clearly in loooove and flirt and tease each other to boot!

THIS session was such fun... the weather was beautiful (though H-O-T!!) the couple was a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e and it was my first session with my new assistant Alysha!!!  She did a great job helping out with the shoot... she was practically reading my mind as she would be right where I needed her the moment I needed her! Thank you Alysha!!!  And this precious couple... expecting their first child, a sweet baby girl we will get to meet in September! Mom was literally glowing with anticipation and Dad was cool as could be, not nervous or scared and willing to do whatever we needed him (aka... Mom asked him!) to do!   I am humbled and honored by their choice to invite me to "grow with their family," allowing me to capture this moment as well as baby "C"'s first pictures once she arrives!  Thank you V & C!  Can't wait to meet Sweet Miss C! Until then, I hope you enjoy these portraits of your exciting time of anticipation! I sure did enjoy taking them ;)

Such a fun and beautiful couple!!  Now all you need to do is take care of yourself Momma, and get lots of rest.... see you soon!!

Oh the anticipation is killing me!!  I LOVE MATERNITY PORTRAITS!!

Announcing: Our Newest Product!!

I am beyond excited to present to you our newest product we are so proud to offer: The beautiful, versatile easy to clean, and ultra-customizable Gallery Block!  It is available as a single, set of singles or even as a collage -
the Floating Gallery Block!

OK, I know you are asking...

What is a Single Gallery Block™?

It is a professional photographic print adhered to a solid wood structure through a custom process that produces a unique wall décor product.

What is a Floating Gallery Block™?
It is a series of professional photographic prints adhered to solid wood structures and united on a larger backboard which produces a hanging three-dimensional effect.

Here, take a close-up look at the one you'll see below:

What I love about them is their sleek, modern look and that you don't need a frame... they come ready to hang! You just clean them with a damp cloth when needed, easy!  And they are the epitome of unique!!! As your photographer, we can create a collage that is unique to you and your family, making it coordinate with your nursery or family room decor! You can choose if the image wraps around the block or if you want a color or design around it instead! No matter what you choose, it looks beautiful!!

I love hanging gorgeous art on my walls, but I love it even more when the artistic prints are of MY FAMILY!!! However, I kind of feel like too many framed prints one after another get redundant, even if each print is different. These Gallery Blocks will definitely add spark to your display!

And what BETTER WAY can you think of to show off your most precious family moments?

I CANNOT WAIT to get my Gallery Blocks on my walls!

I do have a catalog of ideas available upon request, but remember... it is COMPLETELY CUSTOMIZABLE!!

Single Gallery Blocks start at $60 for a set of 3 5x5s, and the Floating Gallery Blocks start at $120 for a 5x5 on a 14x14 backboard. Yes, they are a bit more of an investment than taking your CD to Wal-Mart for some prints, BUT they are much more stunning to look at and show off display!

You can see more prices on my pricing page, but for a better idea of your investment for the design you desire, please call/email me directly.

If you have questions or need more info, call or email me today! I'd be happy to discuss them with you!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day and remember to ... focus on moments! Don't let them slip by!

Blessings,
Dianne

6 Month Old Cutie!!

Today I got the privilege to photograph a good friend's baby girl for her 6 month milestone!  I'm so grateful when someone entrusts me with capturing their babies milestone moments on camera.... it's a fleeting moment in time and the pictures are all that's left! And when a friend asks me to do it, I am even more moved because of the history we share and the story I know is behind that very moment.

This adorable little girl is the daughter of my friend C, who worked with me at Family Christian Stores way back when! LOL! I remember talking about our hopes and dreams for the future during slow days or closing time. And NOW, I got to photograph her dream come true... her baby girl! Oh! It was wonderful!!

And sweet Miss K... was so very cooperative! We had her sitting on hard bricks, laying against old rough trees and almost sliding down a bench. Yet she never complained, sleepy and all! She was so ready for a nap, but still, she posed and cooed and looked all bright eyed as if on cue! Goodness! Don't you just want to pinch those cheeks!?  I had to stop myself.... but it was hard!

So, take a look at her sneak peek.... hope you love them as much as I loved shooting them!

Can't wait for your 1st birthday K!

Birthday Girl Shoot!

I love photographing your precious babies and children!!! One of my favorite shoots is the 1st birthday shoot!

This adorable little girl was especially fun to photograph! She was all smiles most of the time.... except when she tasted the cake!  LOL... she did NOT like it at all! Her mom told me that even on her actual birthday she still didn't get into it! How funny! She made some sour faces, but they still made for some great shots!  Hope you enjoy these as much as I did!

Oh, and HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY MISS B!!!!

The Blessing of a Great Doctor

I have to say, I believe I have found the best pediatrician on Earth.  He is not paying me to endorse him. He probably won't ever even know I wrote about him. However, since I specialize in photographing babies and children and I have had the BEST experience with my current pediatrician, I decided I had to write about him today. Until I found him, I stressed and cried with worry every time my kids got sick, because either I couldn't get appointments when I needed them or the appointments would be rushed and I would leave with many unanswered questions. So for all the moms or dads out there who need to find a new, better pediatrician... this is for you:

I went through 3 pediatricians before finding Dr. Roger Sisk in Marietta, and when I finally found him in 2007, I immediately knew he was The One! HE was THE doctor I could entrust my kids to, and since my kids hold my heart, this was a very difficult position for a doctor to obtain! Everything about Dr. Sisk is amazing. He is great with the kids. He is great with the parents. He is just a great doctor!

With the kids, he talks to them on their level. When he goes to listen to their hearts/lungs, he warms up his stethoscope (just a little detail I noticed that have never seen another doctor do); when he is finished looking in their eyes he has them "blow out" the light like a candle. (The kids look forward to this!) When he looks in their ears, he always "finds" a popular character living in there - which cracks the kids up! (And he knows who to have reside in each kids' ears!)  Everything he does during the checkup puts the kids at ease. My kids actually look forward to going to see Dr. Sisk! So much so, that when one of them is sick, the others get jealous that they are not sick an thus don't get to go with us!

With the parents, he is just as wonderful. He is SO very encouraging. You know, as a mom, you always worry if you are doing the right thing, or if you are messing your kids up for life! He always ends each visit with a statement like this: "You are doing a great job, mom. Keep it up!" I know he probably says this to all the moms, LOL, but it still is so nice to hear!!  He also listens to me! When I am unsure or uncomfortable about something, or have extra questions, he takes the time to answer all my questions and put me at ease with whatever we are discussing. I know I can trust him. And  I know he will listen to my "motherly intuition" (unlike my last pediatrician who actually argued with me about my 2nd infant son's condition! He said he was just colicky, but I knew he was in pain! That is when I decided to find a new pediatrician. Within the first 5 minutes with Dr. Sisk, he diagnosed him with chronic acid reflux! So much so, that he referred us to a pediatric gastroenterologist! He couldn't believe my previous pediatrician dismissed my concerns!) Oh, he also defines the phrase "going above and beyond." With my new baby, we are fighting jaundice, and have had to get his blood tested almost every day since being discharged from the hospital. This includes three weekends. Yet, after each test every weekend, Dr. Sisk called me himself  with the results and his next plan of action. I have NEVER had a doctor call me him/herself, let alone on a Saturday or Sunday! Yet, he has, 5 times now (including today)! Yep, ever since that first appointment in 2007, every visit with him just confirms to both my husband and me that we have found the BEST pediatrician ever.

If you are looking for a great pediatrician, contact Dr. Sisk. I promise, you'll love him too!

A Very Special "April Special"

To kick of our "grand re-opening" we are going to hold a very special April Special in honor of a very special and beautiful itty bitty baby named Scarlette...

You see, her Mommy went in to preterm labor, too. However, the doctors were not able to stop it, and her precious baby was born at 25 weeks. You can read all about Scarlette's story here. The huge blessing is that Scarlette is alive & well, but she is fighting for her chance to go home from the NICU. Her story touches my heart to its core for many reasons, but mostly because we just went through the scare of preterm labor ourselves. No one knows what causes preterm labor, and why sometimes the doctors can successfully stop it, and other times they cannot. I am eternally grateful that they were able to stop mine when it started at 29 weeks. But not a moment went by that week or in the weeks that followed that I didn't think of sweet Scarlette and her Mom, KA, realizing they were not as lucky. When I went into labor again at 36 weeks, this time, they were unable to stop it. But our was born healthy and strong, despite the doctors' many warnings of all the problems he could have had. Again, I Thank God for this blessing, but I have to wonder why? Why do some babies make it just fine, some struggle and  still many others never make it at all?

It is the goal of The March of Dimes to research and find answers to these and many other questions. And now, KA and her husband Jeff, have started Team Scarlett to obtain sponsors for their walk in The March of Dimes. We consider it a privilege to partner with them and be able to offer two April Specials in their honor:

  1. %10 of all sessions and sales from the month of April will be donated to Team Scarlette at The March of Dimes.

  2. Anyone who books a session for the month of April and mentions Team Scarlette will receive a free $50 print credit, good towards any combination of professional prints up to $50!  (Remember, you also get a high resolution CD of all your edited images with your session fee!)

Team Scarlette

We are praying for baby Scarlette and we thank you for helping us support them! I look forward to hearing from you!

The Best Excuse Ever

Well, I am so excited to finally be able to introduce you to the reason I had to take so much time off from shooting and editing your portraits...

Meet our precious new baby boy... Baby S! He was born March 1 at 8:53 am, weighing 5 pounds 4 ounces and was 17.6 inches long.  He was still 4 weeks early, but is healthy as can be. We are struggling a little with jaundice. However, in light of the many other problems he could have had, we consider this quite the blessing! It was such a delight to shoot his newborn portraits! I have been away from my camera for far too long! And I have been anxiously awaiting his arrival, as well! So it was quite a momentous time for me. Hope you enjoy them too!

The many faces of Mr. S!!  <3

Had to have a picture of him next to something to compare his size
and show how tiny he his!  HIS BEAR IS BIGGER THAN HIM!!!

Now that this tough pregnancy is over (finally!) I am ready to begin booking sessions again! We should be all recovered and ready to shoot by the beginning of April, so I will start taking appointments for that time. It will be perfect! Easter Portraits! Spring Portraits! Spring Break Portraits... whatever occasion you wish! Call or email me today, as I will have limited times available until Baby S is a bit bigger :)

Thank you for your patience! I will be finishing the editing many of you have been waiting on over the course of the next two weeks. You will hear from me soon!

And then, I can't wait to spend time with you and your precious families again and take some more memorable portraits for you!

Bed Rest & Time Off

Well, Baby Peanut seems to be in a hurry to join us, though it is waaay too early for that! So, Doctor has put me on complete bed rest now. This means I cannot schedule anymore sessions until after baby is born. This makes me so sad because I had two expectant moms due within the next 2 weeks that I was looking forward to shooting newborn portraits for! You ladies know who you are; we have already discussed this news and I appreciate your understanding. But please know how disappointed I am in having to cancel! However, you're right, it is all for the health and well-being of Baby Peanut, so Thank you for understanding!!

Also, unfortunately, most of the editing I do requires me to sit up at my computer, so I will be unable to work as diligently as I would like on that as well. (Doctor says gravity is my enemy right now, and even sitting up puts baby in danger!) I will do my best to continue working on it, but please know if I do not get your images finished promptly, this is why. I will get them to you as soon as I can, based on how much my body lets me work on them.

Again, I thank you all for your patience and understanding, your love and support. I am also eternally grateful for your prayers.
