Didn't want to spoil any Christmas surprises so I waited to post these, but she's still cute as a button!  Hope you enjoy =)

Colorful Fall Family Portraits | Kennesaw Family Portraits

This one has been burning a hole in my computer trying to get out!  I shot these in early November, but was asked not to post them because they would be family Christmas gifts! What an honor! Really, I was thrilled for the chance to be the one taking these pics, but Oh-My-Goodness... I about couldn't stand the wait to share them with you!!! This girl was the most fun E-V-E-R!!! I literally, could not stop shooting!!! I think I took like over 2000 pics of this adorable girl! Of course, every 5-10 looked almost exactly the same, so I'll spare you the hours of looking through them all (Though you'd love every minute of it... this girl will do that to you!) and only post my favorites. The rest, of course, will be on my Facebook page soon: Facebook.com/dulcelightphotography.  Yay!!! here we go!!   Let me know if you love them as much as I do!! She was SO FUN!!!!

Don't you just want to scoop her up and smother her with kisses? Thank you T family for letting me photograph your beautiful family!!! And THANK YOU Miss H for reminding me why I love my job :)  I sure hope I get to follow you around with a camera again soon!!!!

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!! | Photography Business

Yeah, I went there. My kids liked it, so I hoped you might, too. Or at least it makes you smile. Wait for it... wait for it... there! Yay:)

Well, yes, it is time for Dulce Light Photography to make some changes. Along with my wanting-to-slow-down theme, enjoy life, and focus on moments more, I realized I had to make some changes in this balancing act I'm doin'.  In trying to grow my business, work almost full time, raise 4 kids and play be wife, mom, daughter, sister I realize I'm about to drop one, if not all, these plates. And I don't want to. So I did some figuring and realized I could simplify a WHOLE lot of what I do. Like for instance, just posting the darn pictures from each session instead of taking the time to create a separate "blog collage" for each post! Duh! Can't believe it took me this long to figure THAT one out!  But any way...

Another change that I know will help a lot is a slight increase in prices. I know, my biggest goal in starting my own photography business was to provide "Truly Affordable Custom Portraiture." And I intend to keep it that way. But at $90 a session, with each session lasting 2-4 hours, plus time for editing, publishing and delivering the CD... I was doing a whole lot and still having to make up hours at my full time job. Therefore, it was taking me like 2 or more weeks to deliver a CD!  This is not cool, especially for you guys waiting and waiting for your family pics to be finished!  The only way I can remedy this is to increase prices just a bit. So starting in February, portrait session prices will increase as below:

Mini Sessions: $75
Portrait Session: $120
Retouched Session: $195

My hope is to find the perfect price point and keep it there, and this too, requires a learning curve to figure out at what price gives my client the most affordable portrait session while still compensating me for my time so that I can truly dedicate myself to each family's session as they deserve. I will offer specials and discounts to help out as well, based on my availability and schedule. When I have more time, I'd love to pass on the savings to you. Remember, my passion is to give you what I couldn't afford when my kids were babies. Thank you for your encouragements and support as I learn and grow into my new business!! Without you, I would not be here at all! So, if you have questions or concerns, let me know. I would love to find a way to work out a session for everyone.

Love & Blessings!

& Remember to FOCUS ON MOMENTS!!!   ..... Don't let them slip by

Christmas Family and Newborn Portraits | Acworth Newborn Photographer

Happy New Year!

I know I'm almost a month late, but I figured I'd still start with that since it's my first post of 2012 =)   It's been a busy year already, and I am striving to find a way to slow down and live life more purposefully this year instead of letting it go by in a blur of busyness. Not doing so well, yet, but I'm not giving up! One thing I have decided to change, as you'll notice, is posting the pics individually instead of creating was I was calling a "Blog collage" to post them. This will save me a tooooon of time and will simplify my workflow tenfold. If you have ideas on how to simplify workflow (or life in general!), please share them below! We'd all benefit from brainstorming together :)

One thing I want to do more of is share more pictures with my kids, and talk about our memories and fun times together. I spent most of the Christmas break making a Photobook for them about our family in 2010, and am working on the one for 2011 right now. They are loving it!!  My mother-in-law, and their Granny, passed away last year, and it has been so special for them to see photos of her healthy and whole before her cancer returned. If you've never made a family Photobook, I highly recommend it. Definitely a way to help you Focus on Moments.

Now, I am excited to share with you some portraits I had to put off sharing due to Christmas surprises!  To start, here is a precious newborn with his 2 big brothers and big sister celebrating his first Christmas with them!  Oh How I Loved Shooting These Pics!!  I couldn't stop, and ran over my usual portrait session time because we were having so much fun!! I hope you enjoy them too :)

This was from a shoot my photographer friend, Melissa, invited me to shoot with her. Thank you so much, Melissa!  Oh it was such a fun session!!  As always, you can see the rest of the pics on my Facebook page: Facebook.com/dulcelightphotography.
